Exploring the flipped classroom by using Poll Everywhere

Dr Kumar Shiva Gubiyappa, Dr Ankur Barua & Associate Professor Dr Biswadeep Das recently attended and presented a poster at the 11th Asia Pacific Medical Education Conference (APMEC)-2014 organized by Medical Education Unit (MEU), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, and Image, Singapore on January 17-18, 2014. Mr Hasnain Zafar Baloch of the Learning Resources Department at IMU was also a co-author of the poster.The title of the poster was” Exploring the Flipped Classroom by using Poll Everywhere, the study was aimed at examining the effectiveness and impact on student learning of an Audience Response System (ARS), viz., Poll Everywhere in the context of a Flipped Classroom pedagogic activity, where students were encouraged to take charge of their own learning which was then subjected to further enhancement in an application-oriented manner. The research findings were encouraging and were well-acclaimed at the aforementioned conference. The poster was culled from among hundreds of entries (by the Scientific & Technical Committee) into the 20 Best Poster Section at the conference.
